Top 10 Anime Villains We All Love to Hate

Almost every credit for the success of an anime series is given to the main protagonists.  Although it’s true that anime characters like Naruto, Son Goku, and Monkey D Luffy gather the most fans because of their lovable appearance and unique personality, it can’t be argued that their villain counterparts play a huge role in molding them into the characters we all enjoy to watch. Can you imagine Naruto without Pain and Uchiha Madara?  Will he become the strong and competent Hokage he is now if they were not there to test his limits?

The best protagonist can’t exist without an equally good antagonist.  And the best anime antagonists deserve all the praise they can get for playing a crucial role in the success of the anime series they came from.  The anime villains featured below are the best I’ve found after being an anime fan for more than a decade now.  All of them annoyed me at one point yet I appreciate these antagonist anime characters as they made their respective anime shows unpredictable and very exciting to watch.

1. Yagami Light from Death Note

What if you’ll be given the chance to control someone’s death by simply using a notebook?  Death Note revolves around the story of Yagami Light and other chosen people who were bestowed with the cursed notebook used by Death Gods.  It started just because a Death God was bored and interested in humanity’s limitations.  Yagami Light responded by killing convicted criminals around him and he acted as the new face of justice.  He is a top student in his class and even considered a genius so it was not hard for him to understand the situation and come up with ideas on how to fully utilize the cursed tool he acquired.  He is acted both as a protagonist and antagonist in this anime show.  Whether you’ll see him as a villain or not depends on which perspective you’ll look.  Somehow, he provided a direct path in punishing wrongdoers but the fact that he has the ability to kill anyone in an instant makes him a grave threat to humanity.  Are you a fan of Yagami Light and his perception of justice?  Or do you believe L’s reasoning that our current world is not ready for his idea of justice?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

2. Don Quixote Do Flamingo from One Piece

Monkey D Luffy’s dream of becoming the pirate king is slowly turning into reality.  He managed to acquire a strong and loyal crew.  The straw hat crew started their journey in the grand line with hopeful spirits but they were clueless back then about the enemy they’ll face outright.  He is one of the most corrupted members of the Shichibukai, Don Quixote Do Flamingo.  For his clan, he is the reliable leader who would do anything for the sake of family and to be a step closer to his ultimate goal.  He cares less even a country is destroyed as long as his plans succeed.  To many, he is the reincarnation of the devil himself and is the root of their suffering.    Even the government is afraid of his twisted personality.  He thinks no one as his ally and would turn his blade to anyone who blocks his path regardless of their affinity.  This is why Monkey D Luffy and his paths crossed.  They are destined to fight to the death because they carry opposite morals and effect to the people around them. Do Flamingo strives in destruction and betrayal while Monkey D Luffy fights for new beginnings and loyalty.

3. Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter

Clowns are often seen in birthday parties entertaining children and making sure they leave the event with a big smile.  But even though they dress up to look as colorful and funny as possible, many still fear them.  Some consider clowns as their greatest fears and this is not just applicable to children.  This fear most likely stemmed from famous horror movies and TV shows which feature a killer clown as the main antagonist.  Hisoka from Hunter X Hunter is one of them.  Despite being an antagonist, he is surprisingly very popular.  He’s definitely evil but there are several points in the anime series where he helped Gon and Killua, the main protagonist of Hunter X Hunter.  Although his intentions in doing so are crooked, he still manages to assist them during dire predicaments which makes it hard to entirely hate him.  But don’t be too comfortable around him because Hisoka is merciless and would kill anyone including the ones he considered allies in the past just to satisfy his craving for a good fight.

4. Shishio Makoto from Rorouni Kenshin

Many would easily forgive after being wronged but not Shishio Makoto.  To his defense, the government which he loyally served all his life betrayed and treated him like trash so his vengeance can’t be considered unjustifiable.  He was killed and burned to hide government secrets as they try to transition to a new era of peace.  However, they fail to consider the resilience of a man who has survived countless death battles.  Shishio came out burnt and in the process gained the ability to conjure fire which he can use to heat up his weapon. He can also overheat if used in excessively so it’s basically a double-edged weapon.  After being burnt, his role as the government’s assassin was given to the young and naïve Kenshin Himura.  They did almost the same acts for the government but followed different path afterward.  The two of them cut their ties from the government after realizing that their actions were pointless in attaining real peace.  However, Shishio decided to take matters into his hands and create a government that follows his ideals while Kenshin wandered and chose a peaceful way of living away from the sword.

5. Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho

What is true strength?  Is it the ability to overpower anyone that challenges you?  Or is it measured by how you protect the weak and be irrepressible even against a mightier foe?  Toguro sees optimal strength as his sole goal in life.  He wants nothing other than to be the strongest.  This caused Toguro a lot including his only comrade who treated him more than a friend but a true brother.  He crossed path with Yusuke and his friends when he was acting as a bodyguard for a wealthy underground businessman who kidnapped Yukina, Hiei’s sister, for her crystal tears.  Yusuke somehow defeated Toguro with the help of Kuwabara during their first encounter. Nevertheless, it can’t really be counted as a win because Toguro was going easy on him and the outcome was what his employer wants. Their second meeting is in an otherworld martial arts tournament.  Can Yusuke defeat Toguro if he decides to go all out?  If you’ve never watched a single Yu Yu Hakusho episode then you are surely missing half of your life as an anime enthusiast!

6. Team Rocket from Pokemon

Villains are expected to be ruthless and cunning.  They are merciless and relentless in coming up with evil plans to either defeat their rival hero or finally attain their most coveted goal; world domination. However, this is not applicable to Team Rocket particularly one of their teams composed of Jessie, James, and Meowth.  It is a huge organization which aims to abduct Pokemons and uses them in wrong doings but this team is so bad in their job that they’ve never won an encounter against Ash and his friends even though they’ve been pursuing for several years now.  Their failures are the main source of humor in the anime series.  It’s entertaining to see Team Rocket blast off every time they are defeated but sometimes I feel bad for them.  They do deserve credit for not giving up after countless futile efforts.  And I know every Pokemon fan would agree that the Pokemon anime series won’t be complete and will never achieve the fame it is enjoying today without the quirky and funny Team Rocket.

7. Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord

You might be wondering why the main protagonist of the anime series Overlord is included in this list but please hear me out first.  Despite having a good sense of justice, we still can’t deny the fact that Ainz is an Overlord.  His character is the manifestation of evil and is designed to hate the living.  Of course, he is a villain but he turned out to be a special one because he is a former human being.  All of his subordinates are clueless about his situation and all they see is the mighty Momonga who rules all the supreme beings so they expect him to be wise and evil.  He saved a couple of humans along the way but his subordinates only see such actions as a way of showing mercy towards inferior beings.  Ainz also lost a lot of his humanity including the ability to experience intense feelings and the need to sleep and eat.  He became a monster not just in the outside but also inside as he does not feel even a little remorse after killing humans given such action comes with a justifiable reason.

8. Hao Asakura from Shaman King

Brotherhood is supposed to be eternal.  Brothers should not fight but instead, support each other.  Yoh Asakura harbors no ill feelings toward his brother Hao Asakura.  Nevertheless, he simply can’t work together with his older brother as he plans to rule over the world after acquiring the title “Shaman King”.   It is the ultimate dream of every Shaman across the world so everyone is aiming for it with the help of their respective guardian spirits.  Hao, the current “Shaman King” is merciless and will easily let his Spirit of Fire consume anyone who would dare cross his path.  He also managed to gather strong subordinates making it harder for Yoh to stop his wicked plans.  Will Amidamaru, Yoh’s guardian spirit, be strong enough to match Hao’s Spirit of Fire?  Can their duo achieve what is thought to be close to impossible, subdue a Grand Elemental Spirit?

9. Sosuke Aizen from Bleach

The most dangerous villains are not those with inhuman strength or speed but those who are wise and tricky.  These villains carefully lay out their plans and make sure they would succeed in the end regardless if certain parties try to stop them or not.  Sosuke Aizen belongs to this rare breed of villains.  What’s more disturbing is that apart from being clever, he is also strong enough to become a Captain of Squad Five.  Ichigo and his gang were left clueless as Aizen’s plan went forward from one phase to another.  They only realized that they were all dancing in his palm when it was almost too late.  It took Ichigo’s final Shinigami form to defeat Aizen and he had to sacrifice every ounce of his power to do so.  After their match, Ichigo was left without any spiritual power turning him into a normal human being.  This only proves how powerful and dangerous Aizen is.  He cornered Ichigo in a tight spot.   Although Ichigo’s appearance in the Shinigami world was a part of his plans, it ended up as its major flaw because he never thought about the possibility of Ichigo becoming strong enough to defeat him.

10. Pain from Naruto Shippuden

It is said that pain shapes us.  It brings out the diamond hiding within all of us after we overcome it through sheer will and the help of people around us who truly care.  But it does not go towards a positive outcome every time.  There are also some cases where pain leads a person to the brink of disparity until he loses hope and succumbs to darkness.  This is what happened to Pain.  Jiraiya, his previous master, tried to save him but it was already too late. He lost every reason to live after witnessing the death of everyone dear to him.  Jiraiya was not there to save them so he also held an irreversible grudge towards the only person who tried to reach out to him.  It’s truly a sad story but Naruto simply can’t leave Pain be just because of all the sufferings he had to endure.  Naruto needs to stop Pain from destroying Konoha.  Pain believes that doing so would make him feel better as he considers Konoha as the main reason for his sufferings.  Despite Pain’s inclination to evil, in the end, Naruto managed to reach the innermost of his heart.  Pain realized that the people who are suffering from his actions has nothing to do with what happened to him before and agreed to undo the destruction and death he caused at the expense of his own life.  Is he truly a villain or just another victim of the world’s cruelty?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

Other Villain Characters Worth Mentioning

Majin Buu from Dragonball Z

It’s hard to hate on someone who is chubby and cute.  But the Dragonball Z world was left with no choice when Majin Buu was summoned and he started destroying one city after another.  Son Goku was not ready to fight him back then because he was still dead so the world was left in the hands of Vegeta, Son Gohan, and the rest of the Z fighters.  They were easily defeated by the seemingly indestructible Majin Buu.  He might act like a spoiled child but his power is the real deal.  Gohan was trained by the Great King Kai to surpass a Super Saiyan but it was still not enough.  It was only until Son Goku and Vegeta worked together when they got a fighting chance against Majin Buu.  The Kid Buu appeared and trapped the fat Buu inside him.  When Son Goku’s Spirit Bomb, carrying the power of everyone on earth, killed Kid Buu, Majin Buu was released and they spared him.  He became the new member of the Z fighters and for me, it’s a really good bargain.  As a villain, he is merciless and dangerous because he can’t be killed but as an ally, he is loyal and very dependable.

Kureo Mado from Tokyo Ghoul

Monsters should be hunted and killed.  Anything that is a danger to humanity should be eliminated at once.  This is the mindset of the people behind the Commission of Counter Ghoul.  They are tasked to investigate cases of Ghoul attacks an act accordingly.  Hunting Ghouls is a very dangerous way of living so their best agents are equipped with high-tech weapons known as quinque.  Kureo Mado is one of their most renowned members.  He successfully hunted down even the most dangerous ghouls with his wits and fighting prowess.   Mado might act and look weird but his subordinates respect him.  He is so dedicated in eliminating Ghouls to the extent that it has become an obsession.  Age and sex won’t matter to him when it comes to Ghouls.  He seems them equally as monsters that should be killed on sight without further negotiations.  Kureo Mado was killed by Touka when he tried to sneak an attack towards Hinami, the daughter of the Ghoul he killed in cold blood.

Naraku from Inuyasha

Is immortality really a gift or a curse? What’s the point of living forever if you don’t have anyone to spend all this time with? These questions are irrelevant for Naraku, the rival of Inuyasha.  He is among the many yokais who was born from the human, Onigumo.  He is the one responsible for the death of Kikyo and the seal placed on Inuyasha.  He desires the Shikon no Tama, a jewel which could make him the most powerful yokai.  Throughout the anime series, he raced with Inuyasha in collecting the shards needed to form the jewel.  He successfully completed it later on but he was slain by Inuyasha right after.  He transformed into his real form and gained the power he long wanted but his selfish purpose and lack of trustworthy allies made him weak.  His failure is a reminder for all of us that no man, or in his case monster, is an island.  No matter how rich, powerful, and influential you are, these advantages will always fall short against the existence of real friends and family when it comes to being happy and successful in life.

Titans from Shingeki no Kyoujin

Science is both amazing and scary.  History has already proven that scientific breakthroughs are not just limited to technologies that are beneficial to all humanity.  Remember the Atomic Bomb?  Science paved a way to its development and it wiped out an entire city in just a few seconds leaving thousands dead and millions sick.  This is very similar to what happened in Shingeki No Kyojin.   The only difference is that the experiment gone wrong in their situation does not involve bombs but oversized humans who developed an insatiable desire for human flesh.  They were referred to as Titans and ever since then humanity has been fighting them off with tall walls and military forces specifically trained to go up against them.  These giants are formidable opponents not just because of their size.  A few rare ones also have the intellect that can match humans.  They are also very agile.  One wrong move and you’ll end up inside their belly in an instant.  Topped up with their weird body proportion and scary faces, the Titans definitely deserve a spot in this list.

Ryo Mashiba from Hajime no Ippo

Intimidation is a crucial skill in boxing.   Mastering it would make it easier for a boxer to close in an opponent and chop off a huge chunk of his confidence especially during the early rounds.  And it does not really require a huge body and a scary face to be good at it.  The main ingredients to have an intimidating presence as a boxer are attitude and confidence.   But I’m no expert so maybe there are more.  If you’re really interested in this aspect of boxing, you should meet Ryo Mahiba.  He is the second formidable opponent Ippo Makunouchi met next to Miyata, his rival.  Ryo’s intimidating presence stems from his desperation to win.  He can’t afford to lose because his sister depends on him.  He is also willing to do even the nastiest tricks in the books just to grab the win making it seems like is nothing more than a ruthless and merciless wild animal inside the ring.  It’s different from his sister though.  She sees his brother as a hardworking man who sacrificed everything just to make a living and support her.

Judar from Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

It is said that your childhood shapes you and all the experience you’ll gather when you’re just a kid will affect your overall personality as you grow up.  Judar is a living proof that this is true.  He had a dark past but managed to get out of it and became one of the most powerful Magis in his generation.  The bad experiences he had to endure and his absurd ice magic made him arrogant.  He is the type of person who would not mind killing bystanders during a fight or using innocent people in his plans. Judar is a villain any hero would not want to face.   But is he beyond saving?  Like everybody else, there is still hope to redeem Judar.  Deep inside him is a boy who simply wants to be cared for and loved.  He might violently deny this but Judar’s only wish is to have comrades to fight along with as well as something precious that is worth protecting with his power.  Once led towards the right path, Judar has the potential to be a loyal and trustworthy ally.

Zeref from Fairy Tail

How can I disregard Zeref Dragneel, the most powerful and evilest Mage in Fairy Tail, while making this list?  He is Natsu Dragneel’s big brother and mortal enemy.  For Zeref, Natsu is nothing more than a tool which can free him from a sad and lonely life brought upon by his cursed body.  His powerful and destructive magic and spread death to everything around him in an instant.  He is so powerful that entire guilds fear him while others who are a bit daring exclaim that they are willing to do anything just to make him their ally.   Zeref’s duel with his brother Natsu is one of the best fight scenes in Fairy Tail.  Since Natsu will suffer the same fate as Zeref, our beloved mage is basically forced to sacrifice his own life for the good of all.  To the eyes of his friends and guildmates, it’s a battle that would lead to no other path than seeing their comrade die.  How can Natsu get out alive from this ordeal?  Will Fairy Tail’s firepower be enough to stop Zeref and his plans to end an era? You should start watching Fairy Tail now if you want to catch up to the hype!

Gin from Detective Conan

Shinichi Kudo is always vigilant against the syndicate who is responsible for turning him into a kid.  The organization boasts a wide influence scattered across the globe and their operations vary from manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs, smuggling and dealing of guns, and even assassination.  Gin is one of their most loyal and influential high-ranking executives.  Despite his rank, he makes sure crucial missions are done smoothly by personally leading his men on the field.  He is skilled in both armed and unarmed combat.  But probably the most dangerous thing about him is his wit.  Gin easily evades police traps and thinks several steps ahead while strategizing.  These are the reasons why even the genius Shinichi Kudo can’t catch him or gather enough information about his origin and the current structure of the organization.

Sea King from One Punch Man

Saitama is unrivaled in almost every aspect as a superhero and is considered as the most popular bald anime character by far.  He is super fast and ultra-strong.  Inflicting damage on him if ever you land a lucky punch is seemingly impossible.  If it does happen, it’s a good idea to immediately check the hand or foot that landed the blow because it will be most likely injured.  That’s how tough Saitama is.  Nonetheless, he still comes with several flaws and one of them is the inability to fly or teleport to a location he desires.  This gave Sea King, a strong monster who claimed to be the most powerful creature living beneath the sea, enough time to wreak havoc in the city and injure several heroes who responded first.  Zenos, Saitama’s disciple, was one of them.  As an advanced battle android, he managed to fight toe-to-toe with Sea King for a while but it was completely over when the latter decided to get serious.  He can turn a droplet of water into a bullet-like projectile weapon by simply flicking it.  He is also fast enough to out-run escaping heroes and has the strength to mow down cement walls with a single punch.  But is he a formidable foe for Saitama?  Well, the answer is obvious but I don’t want to spoil the show even more so why not watch One Punch Man?  I guarantee it’s definitely worth your time!

Tomura Shigaraki from Boku No Hero Academia

There are several types of villain anime characters.  Some specialize in pressuring the protagonists with a huge army which they can order to attack at will.  Others work alone but boast superior strength and other special abilities which make it almost impossible for the main character to win a duel against them without the help of trusted allies.   A few rare ones only rely on their wit and have little to no power on their own.   This type of enemy is the hardest to deal with in my opinion. Tomura Shigaraki belongs to this rare breed.  Yes, he has the ability to decay anything he touches and has boosted strength and speed but these abilities fall short compared to strong professional heroes in Boku No Hero Academia.  What makes him truly dangerous is his ability to command his allies as their leader and strategize.  He has no qualms about killing the innocent and involving them in battles just to gain the upper hand.

Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti from Re: Zero Starting Life in Another World

What if you accidentally take the life of the most special person in your life?  Would you ever forgive yourself? This is the predicament that caused Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti to lose his mind and turn wicked.  He had a tough and gentle look a hundred years ago but everything flipped when he accidentally killed Fortuna with the use of Pandora’s Power.  The pain was too much for him to bear and now he has become an active member of the most feared Witch Cult.   They met path with Subaru, the main protagonist in the main series, and he managed to kill Subaru and even infiltrated his body.  It took everything going perfectly before he and his crew successfully defeated Petelgeuse.

Nobuyuki Sugo from Sword Art Online

Love is patient and kind.  The definition if far from how Nobuyuki Sugo thinks of love.  He is the main antagonist in the hit anime series Sword Art Online.  After defeating the final boss, Kayaba Akihiko, Kirito woke up after more than a year of being trapped inside the game.  He immediately searched for the real Asuna but was confused and worried when he found out that she did not wake up like him and the rest of the players.  He did his best to solve the puzzle and was able to find hits of Asuna being trapped in another game.  And he was right. All along, Asuna was being held captive by Nobuyuki Sugo, the man his family wants her to marry.  He plans to further develop the game and weaponize it.  And it’s up to Kirito and his new allies to rescue Asuna and stop Sugo from starting another Virtual Reality nightmare.

Seijuro Akashi from Kuroko’s Basketball

Basketball is a team sport.  No matter how good you are, winning without the help of your teammates is impossible.  But this common thought can be argued if we talk about extremely talented individuals like the captain of the famous generation of miracles, Seijuro Akashi in the famous sports anime Kuroko No Basket.  He is the one who thought most of the generation of miracle members their abilities and his leadership ability is at the level of professional basketball players.  He plays basketball not per quarter but as a whole.  Against him, it would seem that everything that will happen in every ball possession is going according to his plan.  And if by anyway something unexpected happens, he can easily carry the whole team with his own superior scoring and defensive skills.  Seijuro gave Kuroko and the whole Seiseki Team the hardest time in their basketball life as they all need to play at their best in order to stand a chance against his team Rakuzan High.

Hendrickson from Seven Deadly Sins

It’s ironic to see a holy knight being corrupted.  They are supposed to be the protectors of peace and justice.  Nonetheless, in the anime series Seven Deadly Sins, they are cruel and unreasonable.  Hendrickson to be specific turned to his demonic powers just to achieve his selfish goal which is to rule over the land along with the Holy Knights.  Mediolas and his group suffered a lot of loses just to subdue Hendrickson in his demon form.  But this is a far cry from his personality way back when he was just a loyal knight of the kingdom.  He always scolded his comrades who are slacking and is also extremely loyal to his masters.  He is gentle, respectful, and just.  But people change right?  And sad to say, his change leaned toward the bad side.  Do you know someone close to you who undergone the same change?  Have you tried urging him to come back to the right path?  Share your experience in the comment section below!

Azami Nakiri from Food Wars!

How far would you go to achieve perfection in cooking?  Azami Nakiri took it to the next level by conspiring with top chefs and selfishly deciding for his subordinates.  He was once the director of Totsuki Culinary Academy after manipulating the Elite Ten back then to oust his own father-in-law.  Everyone hates him including the wealthy owners of famous culinary businesses.  And this is not surprising because only a few understand and accepts his meaning of culinary perfection.  He cultivated God Tongue through abusive means despite the fact that the guinea pig is his own daughter, Erina.  This goes without saying that he only thinks of her daughter as a tool for him to achieve his selfish goals.  As a result, Erina developed a rooted fear towards him which she struggled to overcome.

That’s a wrap!  Did you like the list?  Do you also think that anime villains should be credited as well?  They truly make the anime series more fun and exciting.  The stronger and eviler the villain the better, right?  Or do you have better anime villain characters in mind?  Don’t be shy and share your thoughts in the comments section below!  Who knows you might convince me to tweak this list and of course give you a shout out for coming up with an awesome suggestion.

What would you do if a portal to another world suddenly appears at the heart of your city?  I won’t blame you if you end up among the crowd that will surround the portal hoping to at least have a little peak of what’s found beyond.  But don’t you think this is a really reckless move?  What if the beings that created the portal appear while harboring ill intentions?  How would you react if they slaughter the people around you without even saying a word?  The protagonist of GATE, Yoji Itama, had to answer all these tricky questions and respond as soon as possible.  He had the option to run like everybody else but since he is a member of JSDF, his sworn oath to protect the citizens got the better of him and gave him enough courage to fight a mysterious primeval army that came through the portal.

So how does this anime belong to this list?  Our main protagonist along with his subordinates eventually led the first expedition to the world beyond the portal.  The setup is quite unique because he was not transported without his prior permission and by force but he simply responded to his duty as a soldier.  This anime perfectly combines guns and other modern warfare equipment with magic and mythical monsters only found in a fantasy world.  Added with pretty anime girls and a little bit harem, GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There offers a complete package to cater anime lovers across different age categories and genre preferences.

The sword, arrow, spear, and wand are the most popular weapons of choice in RPG games.  They are weapons which greatly help players survive by improving their offensive ability.  But what if you can’t use none of them and be restricted to only a shield?  A shield is good for defense but it’s not ideal in inflicting damage to enemies.  This is the predicament Iwatani Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero faced upon being transported in a fantasy world.  Right from the start, he was told that he needs to be the hero of a kingdom and save them against invading demons.  Anyone with a right mind would say that it’s an absurd request.  Yet, everyone in the throne room where he was summoned acted like it’s expected to happen.  Naofumi objected but he was framed and bad mouthed after refusing to be the people’s savior.  He decided to live independently while the other summoned heroes who specialize on other weapons stayed after being promised with fame and riches.  How will he survive in a new world as a newcomer?  Will his shield and the skills that come with it be enough to help him live freely in a fantasy world?

It was a normal work day for Ichirou Suzuki as a game developer.  Or that’s what he thought.  He was working almost 3 days straight to meet deadlines as he was working on upcoming game while fixing the issues of the already released one.  He decided to take nap to freshen up a bit but woken up in a different place.  Like any of us would think, his first guess was that everything is just part of a dream.  But then again, that hypothesis was easily disproved by how realistic the people, buildings, and the overall environment he had seen after being transported.  He also concluded that it’s not like the previous world since lizard-like warriors greeted him with flying spears right from the start.  Although he managed to eliminate an entire army of them in one hit using a skill from the game he was working on in his world, he was still cautious about the dangers of living in a world where monsters and demons exist.  Can a normal game developer strive in a fantasy world? How will he use his vast game knowledge and overpowered skills in the new world?

Although the light novel where this series is based from is pretty good, the anime adaptation is obviously rushed.  You can tell by how the fight scenes were made.  The characters seem lifeless which is why it got a very low score in the visual department.

Most of us nowadays can’t even spend an hour without looking at our smartphone.  It has become a necessity in our daily lives from making important calls to simply passing time.  But what if you transported to another world with it? I know you’ll say that the battery will eventually run out and it will turn out useless if there are no network providers in the new world.  Well, all of these issues can be solved in an instant with magic.  This is what happened to Touya Mochizuki.  He died from the previous world because of gods own fault so he was given a perk in the new one.  It made Touya confused at first but he simply had no choice since it was something arranged by god himself.  To his amazement, the new world he was transported to isn’t bad at all.  He met new friends and went on a journey while using his handy smartphone and its cheat-like functions to get out from dangerous situations, save his companions, and help others solve their problems.

This is like another version of Death march to the Parallel World Rhapsody. Sadly, it suffered from the same flaw as it was serialized.  The art style looks rushed and a lot of good parts in the novel were skipped.  I know the story is intended to be light and it’s designed for kids but it’s hard to overlook obvious plot holes like nobles easily acknowledging someone with no background and the main character instantly becoming a genius detective who can easily deduce complicated situations as if he is Sherlock’s apprentice

Ernesti vowed to change everything and build his own Silhouette Knight, a huge robot-like machine that acts like the people’s hero, to save his friends, family, and the whole kingdom.  Can a simple mecca otaku take up such a heavy responsibility?  How will he exploit his previous knowledge and defeat the dangerous demon beasts that come his way?

Just when Kazume Sato thought that his life would continue to be a boring and lonely one, he was transported to another world.  He was involved in an accident after trying to safe someone and it turns out he died in the process.  Such heroic act needs to be rewarded right?  Technically, he did nothing remarkable since the person he tried to save will eventually turn out just fine even without his help.  This was explained by the god he met after dying and it hit him hard.  He was given the option to either rest eternally or be reincarnated into another world.  Obviously, like him all of us would choose reincarnation right?  In his new life, he met weird but trustworthy friends who also have their own issues to deal with.  This anime series is not the usual transported to another world story simply because its plot is nowhere to be found.  It’s simply a collection of funny stories about the adventure of Kazume Sato and his friends.  Although a slight resemblance of a grand plot is there, in the end this anime series is designed to be humorous with a few action scenes perfectly sprinkled in several episodes.  It’s hard not to love an anime series like KonoSuba: God’s Blessing in this Wonderful World that can draw out a smile in your face after watching it.

Honorable Mentions:

Sword Art Online

This anime series is to be precise not a transported to another world anime.  But then again, it follows the concept of the MC being forced to live in another out worldly dimension. This time around, our hero, Kazuto Kirigaya was trapped in a VRMMO. He is a social outcast who prefers spending most of his free time in games which is why unlike newbies he instantly responded to the problem without being confused and clueless.

Satou, his game name, decided to play solo.  This is not because he doesn’t need anyone or he dislikes making friends but since the game became real including the dangers, he simply doesn’t want to see his newfound companions meeting their ends.  Eventually, he met Asuna and his worries and fears even heightened as he developed feelings toward her.  How can he save Asuna from the game and its dangerous elements?  Can’t both of them escape from the virtual prison and reunite in real life?

This anime series was a hit not only because it is very much relatable but it also has a lot of great anime fights. The franchise even extended to several movies which also feature Satou along with his friends as they try new VRMMOs and encounter new foes.

Log Horizon

MMORPGs have lost their shine thee past few years.  But then again, this sad reality should not stop us from reminiscing its golden times.  There was no better way to spend the weekend before than grinding a dungeon with friends or ambushing enemy guilds as your group rally towards being the best in the server.  This is what Log Horizon was designed to be as a game but it turned out to be a virtual prison for players.  Log Horizon is very similar to Sword Art Online but with more depth when it comes to character development and integrated game elements.  Any MMORPG enthusiast would love Log Horizon.  It even spent several episodes where the group raided a dungeon and faced a troublesome boss just to farm for rare items and treasures.

Although critics say that Log Horizon’s pace is too slow to be enjoyable, I disagree.  It’s just enough to keep us wanting for more every episode ends while satisfying our daily dose of anime action, camaraderie among characters even with various differences, and even a little bit of romance.

Old but Goodies:

Monster Rancher

The new generation won’t be able to experience the excitement and frustration of waiting, watching, and wanting for more anime every day.  Monster Hunter was released when there was still no free online streaming so we have no other option than to patiently watch every episode one day after another.  But if you think about it, that’s the exciting part.  You’ll have something to look forward to everyday and there are no spoilers since internet social media back then was also non-existent.  Going back to Monster Rancher, this anime show tells the story of Genki and his adventures in a new world where monsters rule.   Some are friends while others are foes.  Genki’s mission along with his newly formed team is to defeat the Monster King and bring peace to the land. The animation may be outdated but this show is truly a must-watch.  Classic anime at its finest!

Yu Yu Hakusho

Yusuke Urameshi was your average high school delinquent student.  He skips classes and often fights with gangs for fun.  But he’s not what he seems to be.  Yusuke is in fact a kind-hearted person who frowns upon the weak being bullied and abused.  He is even willing to lay down his own life just to save a stranger in danger.  He has proven this by jumping in between a child and a car.  Yusuke died but was revived by the afterlife administrator for him to serve as an agent whose duty is to maintain

order in both the land of the living and the dead.

This anime series is one of my favorites simply because it offers everything including lessons about friendship, selfless brotherhood and sisterhood, high-intensity action scenes, and heart-warming romance.  You simply can’t ask for more!  According to trustworthy sources, Yu Yu Hakusho 2018 which makes me excited more than anything else!  This is truly an anime series the current generation would love to experience!

Magic Knight Rayearth

Field trips excite us above anything else when we were in high school.  But what if it would lead us to another world?  This is what happened to the three girls who are the main protagonists of Magic Knight Rayearth.  This classic anime is a must-watch especially for those who are into magic, knighthood, heroines, and romance.  The three have different personalities and gained unique powers after being transported to another world.  Although I have not completely watched this series, most of my girlfriends love it so I’m giving this one the benefit of the doubt.   Have you watched at least an episode of Magic Knight Rayearth before? How would you feel about a remake? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section below!

Having second thoughts about being transported to another world after reading the list?  I don’t blame you.  It’s cool that you’ll be able to see new things and places, make new friends, and start a grand adventure but the hazards will also be real.  What if you don’t have a cheat-like ability like most of MCs in transported to another world anime?  That’s truly a disaster right?  You might even experience more hardships in a fantasy world than the one we have now so I think it’s best to think about it carefully if ever you’ll be given a chance to choose.   In the end, contentment is nothing but an elusive dream regardless if you live in a normal or fantasy world.  We always want what we don’t have, it’s the sad reality so might as well enjoy what you already have to the fullest.  As always, give us a LIKE and continue SHARING the ANIME LOVE MINA!

Top 10 Mind Blowing Anime in Real Life You’ve Got to See to Believe!

It’s always awesome to know that someone famous looks just like you. It can take anyone’s pride up by several notches in an instant. What about if your looks resembles an anime character? Would you react the same way? As we all know, anime characters come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. Some are designed to look as pretty as princesses from bedtime stories while others have bodies and faces that can only be described as out of this world. In the end, whether being an anime look-alike is a compliment or an insult will depend on the character you are being compared to. How about famous international celebrities? Would they be offended? Here’s a list of the most mind blowing anime in real life that can help you come up with a reasonable answer.

Eminem & God Eneru of One Piece

The Slim Shady himself is in the house y’all! Eminem is one of the best rappers if not the best of his generation. In fact, it’s a mortal sin to not know him you are interested rapping and the hip-hop culture. What made him special is that he is the first white person to do so in the industry which was founded and dominated by people of color. And if you ever watched One Piece particularly the arc where Luffy and his gang visited Sky Island, you’ll instantly notice how Eminem resembles God Eneru. They both have the same facial structure, skin color, and even hair. But the best part of all is that both of them stand on the top of their chosen path in life as a ruler where Eminem is the God of Rap while Eneru is the God of Sky Island.

Jet Li and Saitama from One Punch Man

There are only a few action holy wood actors who actually know how to fight in real life. And one of them is Jet Li. He started practicing Wu Shu at a very young age due to his parent’s influence and he managed to reach the international stage which only proves that he has the innate talent, body, and heart for it. Several years fast forward and we find Jet Li in hit martial art movies performing jaw-dropping stunts and fight sequences. It came to a point where he became the face of martial arts after Bruce Lee. This makes me wonder if it’s truly just a mere coincidence that he looks like Saitama from One Punch Man. Saitama is the strongest hero in his world and he happens to be bald just like Jet Li in his famous movies where he played the role of a shaolin martial arts expert. Well it won’t be disrespectful in any way to compare the two because both of them have the skill and charisma to back up their reputation and fame.

Hulk Hogan and Killer Bee from Naruto

Before Mixed Martial Arts took the center stage in fight entertainment, wrestling was hailed as the number one. It also became the venue where famous personalities of today started their career like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Triple H. and many more. Among them, one stood out and became the face of wrestling for decades. His unique antics in the ring and never-say-die attitude impressed billions worldwide. He is none other than Hulk Hogan. Even though time got the better of him today, he is still regarded as one of the most influential wrestler of all time. This is probably why the creator of Naruto can’t help but create a character that closely resembles him, Killer Bee. This goes true not just because of their physical similarities but also for sharing a funky and outgoing attitude. Killer Bee like Hulk Hogan is fond of throwing out catchy phrases and funny gestures which made him very lovable. Although he is not as famous as the lead character Naruto, he unquestionably belongs to the top ten within the Naruto anime series.

Bruce Lee and Lee Pai Long from Shaman King

The untimely death of Bruce Lee is regarded as one of the most tragic events in the modern entertainment industry. During that time, he was at the top of the world with international exposure and millions of fan worldwide. He started the martial arts revolution and greatly increased his fame along with the art from one movie to another. The world misses him until now which is why a lot of video game and anime characters are based out of him. One of them is Lee Pai Long from Shaman King. They have the same hairstyle and facial structure. Their fighting techniques are also very similar as they focus on inflicting the greatest damage possible in the least possible time using any part of their body or a pair of nun chucks.

Keanu Reeves and Rintaro Okabe from Steins; Gate

It’s common for famous people to be prideful an arrogant. Most of them succumb to the ravaging whirlpool of fame and worldly riches and as a result forget their roots. Nonetheless, it’s good to know that there are a few exemptions among them and the best example is Keanu Reeves. Despite starring in several blockbuster movies, he remains grounded. He has a really charming face so it’s hard to accept that there’s someone that looks like him. However, anime fans who got to know Rintaro Okabe from Steins; Gate won’t say the same. Their facial features are the same as well as their hairstyle. Both of them are also socially inept but are experts in their field of choice as a scientist for Rintaro Okabe and as an actor for Keanu Reeves.

Manny Pacquiao and Makunouchi Ippo of Hajime no Ippo

It’s impossible to gather 8 division belts in professional boxing unless you are Manny Pacquiao. He is the Filipino boxer who took the world by storm and impressed boxing fans across the globe with his inhuman hands speed and unrivaled punching power. Manny Pacquiao was unstoppable during his prime as he demolished previous boxing legends like Marco Antonio Barrera and Eric Morales. His boxing intensity can be compared to Ippo Makunouchi’s aggressive and relentless style. Although he does not use Ippo’s signature move, Dempsey Roll, Pacquiao’s humble beginnings, knockout ability, and hunger for greatness equals Ippo’s. So if Pacquiao is Ippo, who do you think should be the Miyata Ichirou of boxing? Leave a comment below!

Dirk Nowitzki and Midorima Shintarou from Kuroko’s Basketball

Are you a basketball fan? Or were you a high school basketball varsity player or simply play with friends during weekends? As long as you have a bit of knowledge about basketball, you’ll agree that those who are blessed with height conventionally take the center role during a game. This role requires the player to control the rebound, box out the opposing team center, and make put backs when possible. Dirk Nowitzki, an NBA superstar, defied this norm by becoming one of the best jump shooter of all time despite having the height of a center. Kuroko’s basketball fans will instantly compare him to Midorima Shintarou upon knowing such fact. Although they don’t look exactly alike, everything about them aside from that perfectly fits like their shooting form and accuracy.

Scarlett Johansson and Motoko Kusanagi of Ghost in the Shell

Scarlett Johansson is one of the prettiest faces in the Hollywood today. This is one of the reasons aside from her innate talent in acting why she already starred in a number of box office movies for the past decade. Anime fans were excited as news regarding her portrayal of the role of Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell since she has every requirement to pull of it off. And as expected, she delivered with flying colors. Although critics say that the movie ended up as a typical Hollywood hero movie without offering something new in the plate it somehow gave justice to the franchise. At least they go Motoko’s looks right as Scarlett Johansson’s transformation in the movie made her look like the anime character’s real-life version. What do you think about the Ghost in the Shell 2017 movie? Share your thoughts below!

Chris Hemsworth and Brain Unglaus of Overlord

Upon facing an opponent that you can’t beat and you feel certain death is just a few seconds away, would you run for your life or hold your ground to at least put up some kind resistance? This decision where your life is one the line is not easy. This is why no one has the right to criticize Brain Unglaus of Overlord when he ran like a mad man after realizing Shalltear Bloodfallen’s strength. It’s not that he is a coward, he simply responded to human instinct. He greatly reminds me of Chris Hemsworth’s portrayal of Thor. Courage is written all over Thor’s personality but it’s not one brought upon by ignorance. He knows his limits just like Brain. And the fact that they look alike aside from Brain’s hair color makes the resemblance more striking.

Chris Evans and Commander Erwin of Shingeki No Kyojin

We talked about Thor so why not talk about his good old pal Captain America portrayed by Chris Evans. He is the avenger’s conscience as he always put the people’s welfare above any objective. Captain America is also highly respected by every member despite being the weakest among them in terms of raw power. If you’re a fan of Shingeki No Kyojin, you’ll surely point out the fact that he looks and acts like Commander Erwin. They share the same hairstyle and color, facial features, and even body type. Both of them carry a serious yet compassionate demeanor. They are leaders in the vanguard force who protects humanity from extinction.

Honorable Mentions

Kim Taehyung and Kaneki of Tokyo Ghoul

They really look alike and I think it’s not surprising because majority of anime characters are designed based on Asian people. Kim Taehyung belongs to a popular South Korean idol group called BTS. He is both a singer and actor which of course different from Kaneki of Tokyo Ghoul who need to hide his true identity to protect himself and the people close to him.

Robert Downey Jr. and Robert of Tiger and Bunny

Robert is based on Robert Downey Jr. making them exactly lookalikes. This goes true from the hair, body shape, color, and even their attitude. We all know that Robert Downey Jr. is known for playing a variety of roles in Hollywood movies including weird ones where he was required to overhaul his overall persona.

Ji Eun and Hinata Hyuga of Naruto

Another famous South Korean idol almost made it to this list, Ji Eun. She is a member of the girl group Secret. Like almost every South Korean girl idol, she loves to play around with her style. The picture here was taken from a music video where she slayed the bangs look like the one Hinata Hyuga is famous of. Although they look alike, their personalities are total opposites since Ji Eun is outgoing and bubbly while Hinata tends to be shy and freeze up during embarrassing moments.

There are other anime characters out there who lookalikes in real life.  Those that are not planned are more special though.   If you have noticed anime characters that resemble your friend, families, or famous personalities aside from the ones mentioned above, feel free to share below in the comments section.  Moreover, include pictures to help convince us that they are truly worth being a part of this list.  As always, give us a LIKE AND SHARE THE ANIME LOVE MINA!

Top 10 Coolest Anime Boys with White Hair

Anime characters come in all shapes, sizes, and color.  Yet it’s expected for anime characters to have black hair since it’s what Japanese are usually born with.  They might be not well-represented in terms of number but anime boys with white hair does not disappoint in terms of look, personality, and overall charisma.  In fact, many would agree if I say that they are usually the anime characters with dark secrets, hidden powers, or bizarre personalities which made them very fun to watch.  Have you just been starting to watch anime and haven’t seen a lot of white-haired characters?  Look nowhere else since this article is the right place to be! Read further and get to know the coolest anime guys who looks cool in their white hair you’ll ever find.

Sebas Tian from Overlord

What separates men among boys?  Well for me, it’s all about attitude. Although he is worthy of being a part of this list, I can’t really say that Sebas Tian from Overlord can referred as a boy.  He is far too gentle and wise to be called one yet his charm and looks can easily surpass those who are several years younger.  Sebas  Tian is the loyal butler of Ainz Ooal Gown.  He was designed to be nothing more or less but he eventually inherited the passionate and merciful heart of his creator.  This was manifested when he got out of his way to save a dying girl in the street even though it would compromise his mission.  Being a gentleman alone makes him worthy to be a part of this list.  Counting his stunning looks, manly posture, and outstanding martial art skills makes it unquestionable.

If you got interested with Sebas and wants to know more about other characters in the same anime series, click here : Complete List of Overlord Characters

Killua Zoldyck from Hunter X Hunter

There are only a few anime characters who are as well-loved as Killua Zoldyck from Hunter X Hunter.  He is one of the sons of a well-known assassin family. He is one of the cutest white haired male anime characters, but also one of the deadliest.

His adventure in the series started when he met Gon during the Hunter exam.  This boy is not like the usual assassin.  He is not emotionless and would never kill in cold blood.  Killua is a complete opposite of his other brothers because he values family and friendship.  His strong dedication in protecting the innocent Gon made him more like a brother towards him than a simple friend.  If you’re look for an ultimate bromance experience then you should watch Killua and Gon’s wild adventures!

Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul

A world where humans and ghouls coexist would sound absurd for anyone.  Yet, Ken Kaneki considers this scenario as his dream.  He was once a normal human but unpredictable series of events turned him into a half-human and half-ghoul. People around him think of ghouls as nothing more than wild monsters who treat humans as food.  But Kaneki, through his unique condition, is able to understand both sides.  There are also ghouls who mean no harm and only seek for a place to belong in the community.  As the story progresses, Ken Kaneki’s point of view regarding ghouls changed and he began his journey towards realizing his seemingly impossible dream, a world where humans and goals can live together peacefully.  This white-haired dreamer might turn from a charming young lad to a ruthless beast through his ghoul form in a split second but his admirable and equal compassion towards both man and ghoul should be enough to land him a spot in this list.

Kaneki is not only charming but considered as a hot anime guy as well. Aside from the physical aspect, this is also because of his character and actions. There are many events in the anime series where fans have seen this feat as well.

Gin from Gintama

The perfect combination of anime and humor is a dish only a few anime shows was able to pull off.  One of them is Gintama where the lead character is a samurai-wielding man-for-hire called Gin.  He is the founder and active leader of a company composed of only three individuals who are willing to do anything for a price as long as it does not go against their morals.  Whether it’s a rescue mission or a simple household chore, Gin and his gang will happily help you out.  But don’t let his laidback attitude and funny facial expressions fool you.  Gin is a skilled and well-known swordsman.  His companions also have several tricks in their sleeves that can help them escape dangerous situations and even capture notorious criminals.  A list of the coolest anime characters in white hair is definitely incomplete without Gintama!

Soul from Soul Eater

Soul is not the average battle junky.  He may look like one but he actually came from a wealthy family of musicians. Soul was frustrated after failing to live up to his family’s expectations so upon discovering his weapon heritage, he did not hesitate in joining DWMA to prove his worth.  Soul has a laid back personality and would prefer doing everything in a cool way than do his best and look bad in the process.  But his attempts to be cool backfire in most occasions.  One of his friends even describes him as careless and arrogant as he tries so hard to look cool.  There are a lot of hilarious scenes in Soul Eater that can attest to this but before you criticize his clumsiness and foolishness, be sure to appreciate how he usually ends up saving the day for everyone.

Ja’far from Magi:  The Labyrinth of Magic

Do you have a best friend?  Someone who is always by your side through thick and thin?  Consider yourself among the luckiest persons on earth.  It’s envious to be Sinbad from the anime series Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic not just because of his position as king but also for having loyal right-hand, Ja’far.  He was forced to become an assassin and kill his own parents at a young age. Sinbad became his savior as their paths cross and from that day onwards they became allies bound by loyalty and friendship.  Ja’far is a friend anyone would love to have simply because he is willing to sacrifice everything just to guarantee his friend’s well-being.  He might have a sincere and calm attitude but Ja’far is always ready to bring out the hidden rage in him whenever the situation dictates.

Isana Yashiro from K

The world has several faces.  For people who are living in peaceful and prosperous lands, the world is teeming with reasons to smile and be hopeful for a better future every day.  On the other hand, for those who live in warring countries, the world is dark and a hopeless place.  No one wins in a war.  This message has been spread worldwide in various mediums even in anime.  Among several anime shows that aim to pass this idea to its viewers is K where Isana Yashiro plays the lead role.  In this anime show, he is a scientist and researcher whose main goal is to stop war through science.  His thought was transferred to the body of a young boy before he could do so and that’s how his struggles to return to his former body and form a world of peace started.  Who could not love this peace-loving, kind, and handsome white-haired anime boy?

Haise Sasaki from Tokyo Ghoul

Quiet and reserved persons are prone to having hidden evil personalities or dark origins.  This is why many are reluctant about loving ominous anime characters especially if they are introduced early in the show and various questions about where they came from and how their personality developed remained unanswered.  But don’t worry too much if we are talking about Haise Sasaki from Tokyo Ghoul.  For starters, he is one of the main protagonists of the anime show so expect him to be on the side of justice.  He may not be a fan of justice and doing good acts for the sake of others but he is true to his words.  He is also a dependable ally.  Haise started as a character with unreadable personality.  It can even be said that he was designed to be an enemy but rollercoaster of events turned him into Kaneki’s ally.

Zen Wistalia from Akagami no Shirayuki-Hime

Every girl anime fan has already imagined their favorite character as a knight in shining armor riding a white horse approaching towards them. This sweet moment is every woman’s dream and it can be made sweeter if the one playing as prince is the real deal like Zen Wistalia from Akagami no Shirayuki-Hime.  He is the main hero in the anime show. Zen may not be the first prince but he is more suitable to be king than anyone in their kingdom.  He is kind-hearted, witty, brave, and strong.  These traits alone should be more than enough to capture any woman’s heart. His handsome face and white shiny hair completes the package turning him into the ideal anime boy character every girl fan is dreaming of.

List of Best Bald Anime Characters of All Time

Long hair is often incorporated with power.  It dates back from the legend of Samson and Delilah to the current anime hero Son Goku. Things changed when bald anime characters became popular due to Saitama.  These famous imaginary pop culture characters suggest that you’re expected to have greater power the longer your hair is.

But in reality, having a fancy long hair is a huge disadvantage in a fight.  Your enemy can easy pull it and gain control over your upper body. Long hair can also block your view and they easily strangle greatly hindering your mobility.  Despite these truths about having long hair, why do we lack famous anime boys with short hair or bald heads?

It’s clear that if not for the recent appearance of Saitama, bald anime would have been easily left less represented.  If you curious whether Saitama is alone as a strong anime character then read through this list and get to know the rest of them.  You’ll be surprised that you haven’t noticed some of them even though they belong to famous anime shows like Bleach and Dragonball Z!

Saitama - Anime Bald Guy with Cape

Last but definitely not the least is the one who made bald anime characters famous again, Saitama from the hit anime series One Punch Man.  He is the lead character of this anime series and as the title suggests, he can eliminate his enemies even the godly strong ones in just a single punch.  He is the epitome of over powered characters to the extent that it’s not even funny anymore. You can either hate or love him for having absurd strength but you can’t help but do the latter as the series progresses.  Even though he became the strongest man in the universe by far through basic exercises, it never went to his head.  He remained living in his simple apartment while saving the day without attracting the world’s attention.  Saitama is the character everyone including those who have long beautiful hair should look up to!

Master Roshi - Old Bald Character

Son Goku would never become the famous hero he is today without his pervert yet capable master, old man Roshi.  He is the genius behind Son Goku’s famous final move Kame Hame Wave.  Although most of his appearances in the Dragonball Series  is filled with perverted humor, Master Roshi in serious mode is not someone you should trifle with.  He can easily transform from a flimsy and thin old man to a bulked and strong warrior in a matter of seconds.  In his battle form, Roshi can vaporize a mountain using his famous technique and keep up with younger and agile opponents in close combat.  There’s no better way to start this list of the most badass bald anime guys of all time than with Master Roshi from the Dragonball Series that started the worldwide anime craze!

Krillin - The Most Famous Bald Character

Dragonball Z features a lot of bald anime characters so we can’t mention all of them in this list.  I intended to have only one representative for every anime show but an exemption can’t be helped if we are talking about the greatest sidekick in the history of anime, Krillin.  Although he is not bald all throughout the Dragonball series, Krillin’s signature appearances happened in his usual hairless look.  Despite his petite body, he excels in martial arts and easily became the strongest human in Dragonball Z.  As a member of the Earth’s protector, Krillin usually finds himself in a tight spot against formidable alien invaders.  He sacrificed his life a couple of times for the common good of all proving his innate courage and resolve in saving earth and everyone dear to him in it.  Hi selflessness alone makes Krillin worthy of having a spot in this list.

Ikkaku Madarame - Strong Bald Anime Character

Samurai warriors are known for their impeccable swordsmanship and just principles.  Various history books feature photos of them with tied up long hairs while wearing fancy robes. They are swordsmen who really more on agility than power in delivering blows.   Their graceful techniques are said to be so beautiful to watch enough that they can be considered as art.  Their interesting look, demeanor, and fighting style  are the main reasons why samurai warriors have inspired several famous anime characters today.  One of them is Ikkaku Madarame from Bleach.  Although he is not the main protagonist in the series, he has a huge fan base because of his crazy battle scenes and outgoing personality.  He is one of the best representations of the Samurai warriors from the past everyone loves and respects minus the long hair because he is bald.  Does a bald samurai who fears no one not even death belong to this list? Of course!

Aang from Avatar- Cool Bald Character

How would you react upon knowing that everyone in your clan including the people who raised you were killed?  Would you be brave enough to stand up once more and save the world just like what is written in the prophecy or would you succumb to the depression and pressure of bearing the weight of such a heavy responsibility?  Moving on after the death of a loved one is never easy.  This is why any bald character who managed to do so should be a part of this list.  Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender did not just accomplish such kind of feat but also mustered enough strength to save the world from the evil plans of the Fire clan along his recovery process.  He sure looks and acts like a kid but he never fails to step up and save the day every time it mattered most.

Naomichi Yamada from Hajime No Ippo

Boxing is an unforgiving sport. Punches thrown in the ring pack enough power to disable an opponent for the rest of his life or in worst cases take his life.  This is why professional boxers all agree that stepping inside the ring for a fight is like dancing a tango with the death god himself.  The known risks makes boxing even more entertaining because no one knows what will happen after the ring bells. Anime shows inspired by boxing like Hajime No Ippo used this unpredictability and all the dramas associated with the sport to gain millions of fans across the globe.  There are several anime characters in the series who are bald but the one that left a huge impact is Ippo’s student Naomichi Yamada.  He started out as a shy and obedient boxer who has nothing but will and determination to cope with his lack of talent.  Surprisingly, after leaving the Kamogawa Gym, he climbed his own way up the ladder and manage to contend Ippo’s title.  He lost but it was not something to be ashamed of. Ippo acknowledge him not just as a friend and apprentice but as a strong boxer after the fight so there’s no way I’ll finish this list without Naomichi.

Major Louis  Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist

As you are walking along a dimly lit and secluded alley, you came across with a tall man with bulging muscles and a menacingly serious look in his face.  How would you react?  You should immediately turn around if it’s a person other than Major Louis Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist.  This personality greatly contradicts his physical appearance.  By a single glance, anyone would incorrectly assume that he is a single-minded warrior who thinks of nothing but besting an opponent through brute strength.  On the contrary, Major Louis Armstrong is a friendly and just practitioner of alchemy.  He may resort to violence at times but only in dire and unavoidable situations. This strong but disciplined bald warrior deserves not les s than everyone’s respect and a spot in this awesome list!

Jet Black from Cowboy Bebop

In every anime series, there will always be a war-veteran type character who will become the lead character’s master or father figure.  This odd ball will guide our hero towards greatness by sharing life lessons and even imparting a few of his own secret fighting techniques if needed.  Such kind of role is embraced by Jet Black in the classic anime series Cowboy Bebop.  He is the outgoing and capable captain of the Bebop and led the gang in their bounty-hunting escapades.  Jet was once a criminal investigator and earned the nickname Black Dog in the process because of his stubbornness in chasing down criminals.  Several years after and due to unforeseen events, he became a bounty hunter and partnered with Spike who also became his close friend.  This badass bounty hunter should be a part of any list that highlights bald characters in the anime world!

Doppo Orochi - Buff Bald Character

There are millions around the world who watch anime shows to rediscover the beauty of love.  Anime shows like Sword Heart Online and Fruits Basket are among the favorites in this genre as they feature cute and lovable couples.  Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that anime is just for little girls and hopeless romantics.  In fact, anime started out as a venue where mind-blowing fight sequences that are impossible to replicate in real life happen.  Son Goku being thrown hard destroying huge boulders along his path after receiving a devastating hit from his enemy is just one of them.  And if we talk about brutality in fight scenes, only a few anime titles can even equal Baki The Grappler.  Its story revolved around a young man who fights his way to be the strongest in the world even if it would mean overthrowing his own father.  Among the many bald, strong and wild characters in Baki the Grappler, Doppo Orochi stands out.  He is Baki’s mentor and friend who greatly helped in developing his skills so he can at least put up a good fight against his father and be a little bit closer to his dream.

Hanzo from Hunter X Hunter

Samurai’s were mentioned earlier so it would be disrespectful if no anime character who resemble their counterpart, ninjas,  is included in this list.   There are several famous anime ninja characters but the decision is a landslide once I remembered Hanzo from Hunter X Hunter.  It’s almost impossible not to love this character because of his laid back personality.  But don’t even think of underestimating this fellow as he can turn serious and deadly in a split second.  Ninja’s in the past handle dirty works like assassination and it also goes true with Hanzo.  The only difference is that this character treats justice and morality before anything else.  This unique trait coming out from ninja who are expected to be emotionless in carrying out their jobs makes Hanzo even more reputable.

Are you thinking about getting haircut after getting to know all these badass bald anime guys?  Hold your horses yet because their greatness is far beyond hairstyle of choice.  Before making a drastic decision, honestly do a self-assessment first and you might discover several things about you that can be improved without doing something crazy like shaving off your hair.  Have I missed out the bald character you admire the most? If yes then that’s weird since I’m pretty sure I have mentioned the best ones I could find.  Well, try to prove your point in the comment section below and describe the anime character who you think is a good fit in this list.  As always, SHARE AND SPREAD THE ANIME LOVE MINA!
